Levels in Elementary Education in India
Teacher associations and organizations play a vital role in improving
the quality of elementary education by fostering professional development.These
associations foster collaboration among teachers, represent their concerns to
policymakers, and promote continuous professional development, thereby
enhancing the quality of elementary education.
At the National Level
1. National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT):
Ø
Develops curriculum and
teaching materials.
Ø
Conducts training and
workshops to enhance teachers' pedagogical skills.
2. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE):
Ø
Organizes teacher development
programs and capacity-building initiatives.
Ø
Encourages innovative teaching
practices through workshops.
3. National Foundation for Teachers’ Welfare (NFTW):
Ø
Supports teachers with welfare
schemes like scholarships and medical aid.
Ø
Offers financial assistance
during emergencies.
The National Foundation for
Teachers' Welfare was set up in 1962 under the Charitable Endowments Act, 1890.
The management and administration of the Foundation is directed by a general
committee under the Chairmanship of the Union Minister of Human Resource Development.
4. All India Primary Teachers' Federation (AIPTF):

Represents primary teachers
across India.
Ø
Advocates better salaries,
working conditions, and policy changes for elementary teachers.
All India Primary Teachers
Federation (AIPTF) has immense pleasure in launching its website for our
members and teaching fraternity in India and globally. AIPTF is an affiliating
body of Primary teachers’ organizations in the country. More than 2.3 million
teachers are its members. The teachers unions in 24 states are affiliated to
it.
At the State Level
1. State Boards of Education:
